This October, Furman will host the biggest family reunion of the year. Alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students will gather the weekend of October 23-25 to honor Homecoming traditions, cheer on the Paladin football team and reunite with classmates. Be a part of the celebration. Come home.

1 p.m. 4th Annual Chris Keen ’87 Scholarship Golf Tournament

Furman University Golf Course

Chris Keen was a beloved member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and the Paladin Basketball team. In celebration of his life, the fourth annual golf tournament to benefit the Chris Keen ’87 Endowed Scholarship Fund at Furman will take place on Friday, October 23, with a 1 p.m. start time. The Keen Scholarship Fund provides need-based scholarships to Furman legacy students and in 3 years has already awarded more than $15,000 to support Furman students. Shotgun Start at the Furman University Golf Course. This evening’s game has been dedicated to Quinn Cronin and her entire family. Quinn’s father, McNeil, is a Furman Soccer Alum. Quinn is 3 and a half and has Down Syndrome. The game is called “The Quinn Game” for Down Syndrome Awareness. To help raise awareness and bring the community together, DSFA Greenville will be in attendance.

The Black Alumni Association is hosting its fifth annual Black Alumni Recognition Brunch on Saturday, October 25, from 9 – 11 a.m. in the Watkins Room of the Trone Student Center. The brunch is a means of recognizing the accomplishments of Furman’s black alumni from each decade. Winners are nominated based on accomplishments in the areas of academia, community service, career and business, or service to Furman University. All are welcome. The cost to attend is $15 per person, ($5 for children under 17).

No matter the season of the year, flowers, shrubs, and trees are well cared for and projecting their best for the season. Furman’s floral gardens designer and horticulturist, Sheree Wright, will lead us on a “tour” of the gardens located throughout the campus. NOTE: This is a classroom event, not a walking tour.
